Egg Catch

Egg Catch is a simple fall-and-catch mobile game that I made in a two-day game jam that I set for myself. It was really fun doing this game jam for myself and really helped me learn a few things about how to streamline my design process. What I wanted from this game was to have an easy rinse and repeat style mobile game, where the player is competing with their self in different levels to get the best score possible. There was not any particular inspiration for this game expect maybe the Chansey Egg Emergency mini game in Pokémon Stadium. 

  

If I was planning on developing this further, I would make the levels increase in difficulty by adding fake eggs that could kill you, increasing the speed or by adding rising and falling obstacles on the ground level, that the player would have to play around as they tried to catch the eggs.  

  

Later, I thought if I was going to send this into the mobile market as a fully completed game, it would be a good idea to add different skins for the eggs or a nest that the players could unlock to add another level of progression that the player could look forward to.
